It’s no joke.

A catholic priest, rabbi and Buddhist monk walked into a new burger joint in Chelsea today to bless the place.

The Buddhist monk turned to the priest and said, “This is my first time blessing a burger joint.”

 The priest doesn’t say much, just sprinkles some holy water, but the rabbi said, “The last restaurant I did was a hot dog joint in New Jersey.”

Seriously. The religious men gathered to try to break a curse on 470 W. 23rd St., the new home of New York Burger Co.’s third franchise.

Over the years, about half a dozen restaurants have opened and quickly closed there.

The most recent, Il Bordello, hung in for just nine months last year. Other once promising eateries to open at the spot include Le Solex, Jerry’s Bar & Grill, and the Flamingo Room.

 So the New York Burger Co. called in some religious heavyweights before opening next week. The owners invited Robert Chodo Campbell, a Buddhist priest; Father Ed Sombilon a Catholic priest from Holy Trinity Parish in Fort Lee, NJ; and Rabbi Dennis Tobin from Temple Beth-El, in the Bronx.

 “We hope to get rid of the bad spirits and start a fresh and have a good vibe here,” said Brice Moldovon, who owns the new restaurant with his family.

Witnesses have testified in the case of 11 men in Burundi, accused of the attempted murder of albino people and selling of their body parts.

Initial charges of murder have been dropped because the prosecution failed to produce enough evidence.

Police suspect the body parts are being sold in neighbouring Tanzania, for use in witchcraft.

Forty-six albino people have been murdered in Tanzania in the past 18 months, but no-one has been convicted.

After a nasty surprise Thursday morning for one Bishopville resident, she’s wondering if the “Lizard Man” is back.

Dixie Rawson of Bishopville sent WIS News 10 an e-mail about a big surprise she got at her home Thursday morning. “The whole front half of our van is chewed up. There are bite marks right through the front grill. Both sides of the van above the wheel wells were bitten and the metal is bent like a piece of paper.”

It reminded Dixie of the local legend of the “Lizard Man” that stretches back for decades. Now some are wondering if the Lizard Man is back.

A waitress has refused to be classified as disabled even though she was born with feet that face backwards.

Wang Fang, 27, of Chongqing city in China, was born with her feet facing the wrong way, but has learned to live with her condition without problems and recently refused a disability pension.

She said: “I can run faster than most of my friends and have a regular job as a waitress in the family restaurant. There is no reason to class me as disabled.”

A toddler born with eight limbs and believed by some to be the reincarnation of the multi-limbed Hindu goddess Vishnu, is set to undergo a 40-hour operation to remove half of her limbs.

Lakshmi Tatma was born joined to a ‘parasitic twin’ and will go under the knife at the hands of 30 surgeons to remove two of her useless arms and legs.

One of the newest arrivals at Kirk Heldreth’s dairy farm is drawing crowds. A calf with two faces was born Dec. 27 at Heldreth Dairy Farm, and word has spread in southwest Virginia as residents flock to his farm. The animal is normal from its tail until its unusually large head. The calf breathes out of two noses and has two tongues, which move independently, according to Heldreth. There appears to be a single socket containing two eyes where the heads split.

Palaeontologists have found a tiny dinosaur-era reptile with two heads—the first time the extremely rare developmental anomaly has been found in a fossil. The 120-million-year-old specimen, just 2.8 inches (7 centimeters) long, is a hatchling of a species of Choristodere—extinct aquatic reptiles resembling modern-day crocodiles or lizards.
